Obituary for Charron A. VanDuren (Luce)
COHOES Charron A. VanDuren, 61, of Central Ave. died Sunday November 26, 2017 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Francis J. and Ethel M. Quackenbush Luce. She was a 1973 graduate of Cohoes High School and a graduate of Spencer Business Institute.
Charron had been employed for over 30 years at the New York State Department of Education and retired 7 years ago. She enjoyed collecting antique curio shoes and spending time at the Racino.
Survivors include her children Jodi Barr and Paul VanDuren Jr. of Cohoes. She is the sister of Marjorieann Stewart of Clifton Park, Barbara Wagner of Huntsville, AL, Sheila Thibodeau of Clifton Park, Ethelmae Lefebvre of Waterford and the late Shirme LaChapelle. Also surviving are her dear friends Steve and Kathy Nault and Marge and Bert Czwakiel as well as 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 12:30 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday prior to the funeral from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Alzheimer ’s Disease Association.
