Obituary for William A. Wiley Jr.
COHOES William A. Wiley Jr., 61, of Columbia Gardens passed away Friday June 24, 2022 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Niskayuna he is the son of Caroline Rawson Wiley of Colonie and the late William A. Wiley Sr. He was a graduate of Mohonasen High School.
Bill had been employed by Albany County for 38 years, retiring in March of this year from the Albany County Water Purification District. He enjoyed creating things with Legos and collecting tropical fish and had made an aquarium for them to inhabit.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Mary Rasmussen Wiley, his son Gordon Wiley of Cohoes and his siblings Charles Wiley (Lori) of Colonie and Robyn Lounsbury (Glenn) of Castleton. Also surviving are his dear friends Dorry Santiago, Alisa Chambers and Caroline Nunez-Chambers all of Cohoes, several nieces and nephews as well as his canine companion Corky and feline companion Blacky Chan.
Funeral services will be private.
