TROY William H. Riley, 87, formerly of 6th Ave. passed away peacefully Monday July 18, 2022 at Rosewood Gardens Nursing Home. Born in Cohoes he is the son of the late John and Margaret Hebert Riley. He was educated in Troy Schools.
William had been employed for 12 years by CDTA and retired in 1998. Prior to that he worked at Williams Press. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a volunteer fireman in Brunswick and also a volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Albany for which he received an award in 2015 for 12,500 hours of continuous service. He took the Freedom Honor Flight to Washington DC in June of 2015. He enjoyed fishing and spending time at his camp on Schroon River.
He is the husband of the late Joan A. Ciarlone Riley who died in 2006. He is survived by his siblings, Janice Sullivan of Clifton Park, Richard Riley (Alicia) of Kingsbury and Noreen Iacobucci (Ronald) of Waterford. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Thursday July 28, 2022 at 10 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt.32), Waterford. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday July 27 from 5-7 pm
