Obituary for Uwe Werner Jannen
TROY Uwe W. Jannen, 92, of Plank Rd. passed away peacefully on January 4, 2023 at Evergreen Commons Nursing Center. Born in New York City he was the son of the late Hugo Alvin and Elisabeth Pielsicher Jannen.
Uwe was employed for 10 years at Sage College in Albany and retired in 1995. Prior to that he operated Hempstead Produce Co.. He was a member of the Germania Hall Association and a former communicant of St. Bonaventure’s Church in Speigletown. He enjoyed woodworking and making dollhouses for his wife and traveling with his wife. He was a talented flower gardener and also took pride in the cars that he drove.
He was the husband of the late Herta Eisenhardt Jannen and is the stepfather of Renie Simmons (late Gerald) of Brunswick and Marina Esmond (John) of McDonald, TN. He is the proud grandfather of John LeMay III (Elizabeth), Ingrid LeMay, Edward LeMay (Corinne), Angela Sfara (Louis) and Kim Larsen (Aaron) and great grandfather of Charles, Alyssa, Lucas, Zachary, Evan, Aubrey, Ella, Ava, Devin, Hailey and Andy and great great grandfather of Carter.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 5 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm prior to the funeral service.
