Obituary for Stella L. Wallaitis (Coreno)

STILLWATER Stella Wallaitis, the woman, the myth, the legend, passed away peacefully at home on March 12th 2022.

Stella was born and raised in Mechanicville by her parents Guy & Theresa "Chic" Coreno. She is the beloved wife of 54 years to Anthony "Tony" Wallaitis and is also survived by four children, Mary Brewer, Todd (Jaime) Brewer, Kris (Matt) Sapone and Paulie (Patty) Wallaitis and her brother Guy "Butch" (Sharon) Coreno. She is predeceased by her sister Joanne Coreno. Stella also had two surviving nephews, David Coreno and Matt (Shirley) Coreno as well as sixteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Stella was a jack of all trades and entrepreneur, working for an Insurance Co., paper mill and later running her own Limousine Co., though truth be told, she enjoyed her time as a Crossing Guard and School Bus Driver most of all. She loved the children and they loved her right back, they all held a special place in her heart.

Stella's love of family was always first and foremost. There was always room for one more at Stella's table. Fondly known as "Ma" by all, she touched all who knew her with her generosity and kindness. With her quick wit and unwavering sarcasm, one always knew where they stood with Stella, "Sarcasm Hour" won't be the same without her.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
