Obituary for Sarah Ann Letendre (Grimes)
WATERFORD Sarah Ann Letendre, 87, of Fonda Rd. passed away Thursday April 21, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital. Born in Waterford she was the daughter of the late Mark and Martha Byrnes Grimes. She was a lifelong resident and was a 1953 graduate of Waterford High School.
Sarah was employed for 15 years at Walmart in Halfmoon and retired at 80 years of age. Prior to that she was employed at the former Grand Union Warehouse in Waterford and at American Tissue in Mechanicville. She had been a volunteer with the Clifton Park Ambulance Service, was a member of St. Mary’s School Mother’s Club and had done substitute teaching there.
Sara was a Bingo enthusiast, enjoyed cruises and attending flea markets.
She was the widow of Regis Letendre and mother of Loretta Mackenzie (Craig) of Waterford and sister of the late Mark, Joseph and Robert Grimes. She was the proud grandmother of Corey and Shaun Mackenzie and great grandmother of Cora.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:30 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 5-7 pm.
