Obituary for Ryan J. Shumway
TROY Ryan J. Shumway, 51, of 6th Ave. passed away suddenly Sunday December 4, 2022 at his home. Born in Troy, he was educated in Waterford schools. He was the son of Richard Shumway Jr. and the late JoAnne Brisson Murray.
Most recently Ryan had been employed by Allied Security Co. in Albany. Earlier he had been employed by Capitaland Taxi and Black and White Taxi. He was a former member of the Waterford Rescue Squad.
He is the brother of Catherine Kilmer (Karl) of Cohoes, Corey LaBello (Chad) of Troy and the late Richard Shumway III. He is the uncle of Vanessa LaBello, Bishop Kilmer, Christian Kilmer, Laura LaBello, Chad LaBello Jr., Anthony LaBello, Cadee Shumway, Richard Shumway IV, Mason Shumway and Adrianna Peabody.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Friday at 9 am at Holy Trinity Church, 122 Vliet Blvd. Cohoes. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit with Ryan’s family on Thursday from 5- 7 pm at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte. 32), Waterford.
