TROY Roseann Gontier, 86, passed away peacefully Wednesday October 12, 2022. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lillian Norton Prefore. She was a graduate of Troy High School.

Known and loved for her kind spirit and gentle demeanor, Roseann embraced life with enthusiasm, compassion, and laughter. She was a devoted homemaker who raised her children with unconditional love and tireless patience. Roseann extended her gift of helping others while working at Highgate Manor Nursing Home and Sunnyside Center for Children. Immediately following her retirement, she shared most of her days at home with her grandchildren and her beloved basset hound, Candy. Roseanne eventually relocated to Rouse in Brunswick, NY where she shined as an active member of the community. She enjoyed organizing community movie nights and partaking in-group trips. She was humbly proud of being nearly unbeatable at card games and in BINGO. She loved funny greeting cards, parties, conversations with her many friends and family, and taking photos. Roseann was a captivating storyteller. In 2021, with the help of her granddaughter, she achieved a life goal of becoming a published author of the book, Ruby Red and the Circus. Roseann was known by all as a devoted Christian whose faith was the basis for her inner peace.
