Obituary for Ronald P. Quinn Sr.

TROY Ronald P. Quinn, Sr., 81, of Country Way passed peacefully, Monday, December 19, 2022 at Van Rensselaer Manor.

Born in Plattsburgh, he was the son of the late Donald and Esther Mace Quinn. He was educated in Peru, NY and went on to serve honorably in both the US Navy and the US Coast Guard. In his younger years, he had worked as a Pinkerton at Montgomery Wards in Menands and then as a lab technician for 22 years at Pepsi Cola until his retirement.

Ron was a member of VFW Post 7466 in Poestenkill and the USS WASP Assoc. He also belonged to the American Legion and was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Troy. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also loved to play poker and take trips to Cape Cod.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Beatrice Moran Quinn; his children, Cathy Dandeneau (David) of Johnsonville and Thomas E. Quinn (Michele) of Wynantskill; his grandchildren, Kyle Dandeneau and Kayde Quinn; and his siblings, Ramona and Diane. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his son, Ronald E. Quinn, Jr.; his grandchildren, Kolyn and Donovan Quinn and his siblings, Louise, Mary, William, Donald, Jim and Adrian.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 11 a.m. in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow with military honors in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home from 9-11 a.m. prior to the service.
