Obituary for Robert Wilkinson
SCHAGHTICOKE Robert Wilkinson, 81, of Madigan Rd. passed away Monday May 2, 2022 at Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Harlem he was the son of the late Frederick and Hilda Peterson Wilkinson. He was educated in Queens Schools and received his Master’s Degree from Queens College.
Mr. Wilkinson was an Anesthetist and had practiced at Albany Medical Center, the former Cohoes Hospital and Leonard Hospital. He was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of the American Legion Post. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Parish and a former member of the Colonie Lodge of Elks.
Bob was a dedicated and loving husband and father. He shared his passion for gardening, hunting, fishing, and music with his family and friends. His love of the outdoors included planting hundreds of trees during his lifetime.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Delaney Wilkinson, and his daughters Jeannine Rose (Melvyn) of Schaghticoke, Bonnie Jean Conlee (Brent) of Averill Park and Kristin Meyer (Daniel) of Manlius. He is the proud grandfather of Matthew and Katherine Rose, Grant and Ella Conlee and Collin and Teagan Meyer.
A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at noon at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit with his family at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11 am – noon, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, Bob would have appreciated a donation to St. Jude Children Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or Feed the Children, 333 N. Meridian Ave., Oklahoma City, OK 73107.
