Obituary for Robert M. "Bob" Esser
CLIFTON PARK Robert “Bob” Esser, 64 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on December 26, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Bob was the beloved husband of 22 years to Carol Benoit. He was the cherished father of Abigail Ramsay and Jeffrey Esser and proud grandfather of Aiden and Riley Ramsay. He is survived by his parents, Frank R. and Virginia Esser and sisters Tricia Brett (Larry), Maribeth Fargnoli (John McAteer), Susan Lavine, and Nancy Jo Phelan (Brian). Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
In 2015, Bob retired from National Seating and Mobility as a wheelchair seating specialist. He was dedicated to helping those most in need, especially children with limited mobility. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hiking, rock and ice climbing, and kayaking. Bob was an avid runner having completed four marathons. He loved spending time in the Adirondacks and on Cape Cod sharing time at his vacation home with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was listening to the Grateful Dead and playing guitar. Bob loved “jamming” with his friends as the lead guitarist in their band.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at 10 am at St. Edward the Confessor Church, 569 Clifton Park Center Rd., Clifton Park.
