CLIFTON PARK Robert “Bob” Esser, 64 of Clifton Park passed away peacefully on December 26, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Bob was the beloved husband of 22 years to Carol Benoit. He was the cherished father of Abigail Ramsay and Jeffrey Esser and proud grandfather of Aiden and Riley Ramsay. He is survived by his parents, Frank R. and Virginia Esser and sisters Tricia Brett (Larry), Maribeth Fargnoli (John McAteer), Susan Lavine, and Nancy Jo Phelan (Brian). Bob is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.

In 2015, Bob retired from National Seating and Mobility as a wheelchair seating specialist. He was dedicated to helping those most in need, especially children with limited mobility. An outdoor enthusiast, he enjoyed hiking, rock and ice climbing, and kayaking. Bob was an avid runner having completed four marathons. He loved spending time in the Adirondacks and on Cape Cod sharing time at his vacation home with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was listening to the Grateful Dead and playing guitar. Bob loved “jamming” with his friends as the lead guitarist in their band.

Dear Carol, I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Although I've only known Bob and you for only a few years since you bought your Cape house I really enjoyed our conversations and our discussions about.Cape Cod. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this sad time.

I am fortunate to count Bob as a friend. Our paths first crossed in Our Lady of Victory School, and over the years there were many memorable adventures: fishing trips, when Mr. Esser would take Bob, Dan and me to Tomhannock Reservoir at 0-dark-thirty; vacation in Maine; many nights playing hockey on the Esser’s ice rink; and Bob helping renovate my first house in Troy. I am glad for the times we shared. Hail and farewell old friend!

So sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I understand he went through many struggles over the last year. I had the opportunity to work with Bob for many years, obtaining equipment for clients at Sunnyview. He will certainly be missed.
My sympathies are with you. Please know that your family and Bob are in the thoughts of many.
