Obituary for Robert F. Carroll Sr.

BRUNSWICK Robert F. Carroll Sr., 87, of Bellview Rd. passed away peacefully Sunday, June 19, 2022 at the Teresian House.

Born in Troy he was the son of the late Edwin and Marjorie Fitzgerald Carroll. He was a 1953 graduate of La Salle Institute and later graduated from Hudson Valley Community College.

Bob was retired from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles where he had worked for 10 years. Prior to that he was a sales representative for Mohawk Office Supply. He was a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

Bob was a former member of the Troy Ski Patrol. He was a communicant of St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh and served as a Eucharistic Minister there. He brought communion to patients at both Samaritan Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital, was a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society, the Pre Cana Program and was active in the Respite Program for Alzheimer’s caregivers. Being the father of 7 boys he coached Little League Baseball and Pop Warner Football for over 20 years. In addition he enjoyed golf and played with the Old Timers League.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 61 years, Patricia Barber Carroll and his devoted children, Robert F. Carroll Jr. (Karen) of Sacramento, CA, Michael P. Carroll (Theresa) of Ballston Lake, Timothy M. Carroll (Patricia) of Ballston Lake, Richard E. Carroll (Michele) of Niskayuna, Joseph P. Carroll (late Tracy) of Clifton Park, Daniel C. Carroll, USMC retired (Loralie) of Niskayuna and Thomas J. Carroll (Jill) of Troy. He is the brother of Peter J. Carroll of Florida, the late Roseanne Lamb and E. James Carroll. He is the proud grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and his canine companion Missy.

Funeral services will be Friday at 8:45 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 am at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh. Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Watervliet.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
