Obituary for Rita C. Rule (McDonald)
TROY Rita C. Rule, 90, of North Ridge Estates passed away peacefully Saturday March 26, 2022 at the Teresian House surrounded by her loving family. Born in South Troy she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret Cantwell McDonald. She grew up in Green Island and was a graduate of Catholic Central High School.
Rita had been employed for 18 years at RPI and retired 20 years ago. A devout Catholic she was a proud volunteer at St. Augustine Parish in Lansingburgh. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid Yankee fan, seldom missing a Yankee game.
She was the widow of Robert L. Rule and the devoted mother of Tracy Slupski-Robert (Tom) of Albany, Margaret Stronach (Ken) and Timothy Rule of Troy, Bryan Rule (Elizabeth) of North Andover, MA and the late Robert (Dodd) Rule. She is sister of the late Edward and Jane McDonald, Shirley Cicchinelli, Alice Caswell and Doris Gilboe. She is the proud grandmother of Kenna Stronach, Ethan and Evan Slupski, Tara, Hannah, Mercy, and Delia (Bobby) Rule. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:15 from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133Broad St (Rt. 32) and at 11 am at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 4-7 pm.
