Obituary for Richard W. Shumway III
COHOES Richard W. Shumway III, 44, of Roulier Heights died Friday April 9, 2021. Born in Albany he is son of JoAnne Brisson Murray of Cohoes and Richard W. Shumway Jr. of Florida. He was a 1995 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School.
Richard was a self-employed audio technician and had received several awards for his audio creations.
Survivors in addition to his parents include his children Cadee J. Shumway, Richard W. Shumway IV and Mason E. Shumway as well as his step daughter Samantha Fay. He is the brother of Ryan J. Shumway, Kitty Kilmer (Karl) and Corey LaBello (Chad). Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:30 am at the Church of the Holy Trinity in Cohoes. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit with his family at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford on Friday from 4-7 pm.
As per pandemic regulations, masks are required, social distancing and occupancy limitations observed.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Joseph’s House and Shelter, 74 Ferry St., Troy, NY 12180.
