Obituary for Richard Michael Lasek Sr.
TROY Richard Michael Lasek Sr., 75 of 7th Ave. passed away Friday April 1, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Stanley M. and Myrtle Kelly Lasek. He was a 1965 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School.
Richard was employed for 42 years at Mohawk Paper Mills and retired about 6 years ago. He worked briefly after high school at the Watervliet Arsenal before enlisting in the US Army and serving in Vietnam.
Richard was a member of the Charles J. Brady Post of the American Legion in Waterford. He was an avid reader and was a NY Mets fan. He also collected antiques.
Richard was the husband of the late Karen Bradshaw Lasek who died in 2009. He is the father of Richard Michael Lasek Jr. (Pam) of Waterford, Jeffrey Michael Lasek (Kim) of Troy and Richelle Lindner (Tyler) of Minnesota and step father of Jodi Bradshaw Birch of Mechanicville and Jennifer Bradshaw of Troy. He is predeceased by his brother Stanley J. Lasek. He is the proud grandfather of Jethro Phillip and Karra Mae Lindner. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will Wednesday April 13, 2022 at 10 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 5-7 pm
