Obituary for Raymond L. Cicchinelli

WATERFORD Raymond L. Cicchinelli, 95, formerly of Devitt Rd. passed away Wednesday March 24, 2021 at Eddy Village Green. Born in Waterford he was the son of the late Luigi and Mary Parisi Cicchinelli. He was a 1943 graduate of Waterford High School.

Ray was employed in the Quality Control Department at the Nashua Corp. for 12 years retiring in 1986. Prior to that he worked at Norton Co. in the Research and Development for 25 years. Ray also was a self-employed licensed electrician. He was a veteran of the US Navy Air Corp and served during World War II in the Aleutian Islands. Being the smallest crew member he was the aft gunner. He was a member of the Waterford Council 237 of the Knights of Columbus, the Charles J. Brady Post of the American Legion, the Waterford Memorial Post 5800 of the VFW, the Waterford Senior Citizens and the Norton Retirees Association. He also was a volunteer for the Meals on Wheels Program in Waterford.

Ray was the husband of the late June Boldish Cicchinelli who died in 2008. He is the father of Susan Marie Cicchinelli Morton (Gerald) of Rockdale, TX and Paul Raymond Cicchinelli (Beth) of Jacksonville, FL. He is the brother of Salvador Cicchinelli of Waterford and Alexander Cicchinelli of Philadelphia, PA,Celia Newland of Wheaton, MD, the late Stella, Theresa, Frances, Anthony and Joseph Cicchinelli. He is the proud grandfather of Christopher Cicchinelli (Renae) and Kera Campbell (Ryan) and great grandfather of Zoe, Celeste, Jackson and Jourdan. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Monday at 9 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
