Obituary for Nicola Cappabianca
WATERFORD Nicola Cappabianca, 92, of Guideboard Rd., passed away peacefully Wednesday February 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Ricciardi Maria Guiseppa Cappabianca.
Nick was employed for over 30 years at the G.E. Plant in Schenectady and retired in 1993. Prior to that he was employed at Standard Block and had also worked on the railroad. He enjoyed gardening and doing yard work.
Survivors include his loving companion of 33 years Carol Gibbs and his son Jerry V. Cappabianca of Salem. He is the brother of Pietro Cappabianca of Cohoes, Teresa Sabino of Caserta, Italy, the late Cecilia Izzo, Raffaele Cappabianca and Preziosa Carusone. He is the grandfather of Talia R. Cappabianca of Waterford and Michaela J. Cappabianca of Delanson. He is the step father of Amy Blair and Jeffrey Gibbs and is the step grandfather of Michael Blair Jr., Hollyn and Noah Blair. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 am at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Entombment will follow at St Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 9-11 am, prior to the funeral service.
