Obituary for Mildred E. Lee (Hayner)

BALLSTON LAKE Mildred E. Lee, 86, of Maclyn Meadows and formerly of Waterford passed away peacefully Sunday July 10, 2022 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Halfmoon she was the daughter of the late Everett and Charlotte Brenn Hayner.

Mildred had been employed at the New York State Division of Military and Naval Affairs and retired in 1996. Prior to that she assisted in the cafeteria at Waterford Halfmoon School. She was active in the former Clifton Park United Methodist Church and had served as Treasurer. She later joined the Waterford United Methodist Church now Living Hope United Methodist Church and most recently Round Lake United Methodist Church. She was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels and also belonged to the Hayner Family Association which is a national association of Hayner family members and holds an annual reunion.

Millie enjoyed downhill skiing with family and friends in her younger days. She loved being a caregiver. Her compassion and love of caring for others, placed all above herself. Over the years, she provided support and help to many including family and friends. She also had great pride in her family history, and loved to recount stories of the family and family farm in Halfmoon.

She was the widow of John T Lee who died in 1998 and is mother of Deborah J. Lee of Halfmoon and John E. Lee (Gina) of Waterford. She is the sister of Nick Hayner (Stasia) of Halfmoon, Art Hayner (Gale), Jay Hayner, Carol Hadigan, and Dick Rhodes (Carol) all of Ballston Lake and the late Mary Kiley. She is the proud grandmother of Michael Lee (Marie) and Jessica Chanese (Greg) and great grandmother of Nora, Theo and Everett.

Funeral services will be Wednesday July 20, 2022 at 10 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford. Interment will be in Saratoga National Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday July 19, from 4-7 pm.
