Obituary for Mary M. Poland (Hems)
TROY Mary M. Poland, 83, formerly of Troy and Mt. Vernon passed away peacefully Sunday February 5, 2023 at Rosewood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Hubicki Hems.
Mary was educated in Troy schools and had moved to Mr. Vernon for a number of years before returning to Troy. She was retired from the former Addie’s Hallmark Store in Troy where she had worked for over 20 years. She enjoyed reading and was an avid supporter of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
She was the widow of the late Thomas J. Poland Jr. and is survived by her devoted son and daughter in law Thomas J. Poland III (Joyce) of Latham. She is the sister of Helen Hems of Florida, Patricia Father of Delmar, the late Harold, Barbara, William, Raymond, Carl, Ronald and Betty Hems. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
