WATERFORD Martin D. Yerdon, 76, of Saratoga Ave. passed away peacefully Tuesday February 21, 2023 at his home. Born in Troy he was the son of the late Arthur and Mary Dooley Yerdon. He was a 1964 graduate of Catholic Central High School and a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the University of Miami from which he received his Masters Degree. He was an All American Football player at Catholic High, All American Football player at Bordentown Military School and All Eastern Conference football player, as a freshman, at the University of Kentucky.

Martin was a restaurateur in New York City for many years and in his later years was a writer and painter. He enjoyed cooking was an animal lover.

Survivors include his brothers Joseph Yerdon of Waterford and John Yerdon (Sue) of McCormick, SC and his former sister in law Tina Yerdon of Waterford. Several nieces and a nephew also survive.

A memorial service will be held on Monday February 27, 2023 at 6 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte. 32), Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home prior to the service on Monday from 4-6 pm.
