Obituary for Marie C. Bechand (Hryckowian)
WATERFORD Marie C. Bechand, 74, of Weaver Ave. passed away Thursday, November 24, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born in Ansbach, Germany, she was the daughter of the late John and Helena Husianycia Hryckowian.
Marie retired in 1995 from Shenendehowa High School where she worked in the school cafeteria. She was a communicant of St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church in Cohoes. She enjoyed crafting especially floral designing and ceramics. She also enjoyed listening to radio host Delilah Rene in the evening.
Marie is predeceased by her husband of over 40 years Ronald Bechand Sr. She is the loving mother of Treasha Bechand Plummer of Waterford, Ronald Bechand Jr. (Shelley) of Cohoes, Richard Bechand (Melissa) of Columbus, Ohio, and the late Michael Bechand. She is the sister of Lydia Loquercio (Jimmy) of Cohoes, Cathy Jones (Jimmy) of Sand Lake, and the late John Hryckowian. She is the sister-in-law of Dolores Hryckowian of Mechanicville. She is the proud grandmother of Chelsea, Kayla (Patrick), Stephen (Madison), Alyssa, Emily, Adam, Libby, Nicholas, Zachary, Genevieve, Andrew, Noah, Hannah-Marie, Liliana, Gabriella, and Cecilia and great-grandmother of Jackson, Carter, and Parker. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9:15 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte32), Waterford, and at 10 am at St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cohoes. The interment will be in St. Peter and St. Paul Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 pm.
