Obituary for Kyle R. Patton
LATHAM Kyle R. Patton, 44, of Sherwood Drive passed away unexpectedly Saturday July 16, 2022 at Erie County Medical Center.
Born in Niskayuna he was the son of the late Nicholas and Linda Vermilyea Patton. He was a 1996 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and received both his Bachelor’s and Masters’s Degrees from SUNY Albany.
Kyle has been employed for the past 7 years at the Siena College Research Institute. A sports enthusiast he was a member of the Shenendehowa High School wrestling, lacrosse and football teams. He was an avid NY Mets fan and enjoyed fantasy football. He was a news hound and had a serious interest in politics. He could often be found napping in the warmth of the sun.
Survivors include his fiancée Tara Murphy, his siblings, Kelley Patton-Ostrander of Mechanicville, Keith Patton of Waterford, Nathan Maloney of Loudonville and Norah Funiciello of Latham. He is the step son of Richard Maloney of Waterford and brother in law of Michael Ostrander, Noah Funiciello and Katie Maloney. He is the godson of Ward Patton and uncle of Kevin and Lauren Ostrander, Mae Funiciello, Grace Maloney, Braylyn Hayden and Charlie Maloney. Also surviving are his canine companions, Meeka and Reese and feline companion, Hudson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 12:30 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rt. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at Waterford Rural Cemetery.
“One more thing,” relatives and friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Saturday prior to the service from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm.
