Obituary for Kathleen H. Martinek
WATERFORD Kathleen H. Martinek, 75, of 2nd Ave. and formerly of Newburgh passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, September 18, 2022 surrounded by her loving family. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late John and Anne Kohler Byrnes. She was educated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel School in Astoria, St. Vincent Ferrer High School in Manhattan and received her Associates Degree from Orange County Community College.
Kathleen had been employed by IBM as an Electron Microscopist at their Fishkill, NY facility for 17 years until retiring in 1997.
She especially loved her children.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 54 years Robert C Martinek Sr.; her loving children, Lorraine J. Martinek of Waterford, Christine A. D’Addio of Wantage, NJ and Robert C. Martinek, Jr. of Colorado Springs, CO and her stepdaughter Linda Miranda of Newburgh. She is the sister of John Byrnes of Congers, NY and the late William Byrnes. She is the proud grandmother of Adrianna Sutton and Caroline D’Addio. Also surviving are four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews as well as her feline companion, “Biggie.”
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family.
