ALBANY Katherine “Kasha” (Tymocko) Spallane passed away peacefully Sunday, May 8th 2022 in Troy. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Tymocko. She was a graduate of Albany High School and was a lifelong Albany resident.
In her early years Kasha enjoyed going out Polka dancing with her family and friends. Her love of dancing and Polka music was life long and when she no longer danced she loved to reminisce about it and tell stories of the past. She continued to listen to Sunday morning Polka music. Kasha was strong in her Catholic Faith and was a member of the former Our Lady Help of Christian Church.
Kasha retired from New York State Office of OGS in 2013. Through her work at OGS she worked at 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid as well several events at the Governor’s Mansion. She also worked for Dan O’Connell, Head of the Democratic Party for several years.
Kasha leaves behind a loving family and many friends.
Kasha was a loving, and fiercely loyal mother to, Michael Spallane of Florida, Anthony Spallane of Albany , Michelle (Michael) Alber of Brainard , Susan Spallane of Florida, and Steven (Wanda) Spallane of Athens. Kasha was a loving grandmother to Nickolas, Antoniette, Jessica and Michael, Corey and Jenna, Eddie, Diana and Gabby and several great grandchildren. She was the sister of John Tymocko, Helen (Mike) Fusco and the late Anna Tymocko and dear friend of Mary VanDerVeer, Nancy Breyette and the late Shirley Smith. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Remembrance Mass will be held at Blessed Sacrament Church in Albany on Saturday May 28, 2022 at 9 am.
