Obituary

WATERFORD Joseph P. Canty, Jr., 68, surrounded by his loving family embarked on his final ride on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Born in Albany, Joe was the son of the late Joseph P. Canty, Sr. and Norma Wall Canty. He graduated from Waterford High School in 1970 where he excelled at both soccer and wrestling. Most importantly, Joe was an excellent husband, father and grandfather.

He is also survived by “Grampy’s Angels,” Jakira, Saniyah and Journee, as well as his nephew Noah Nelson and great nephew, Paris. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his niece, Courtney Oliver.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 9 a.m. in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home,133 Broad Street, Waterford. Interment will follow in Waterford Rural Cemetery.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Thursday from 4-7 p.m.
