TROY JoAnne M. Murray, 66, of Fogarty Rd. passed away Thursday October 6, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Stephenson Brisson. She was a 1973 graduate of Waterford Halfmoon High School.

JoAnne was employed at Davis Fisher Co. in Troy from 1985 – 2002. She enjoyed gardening and crafting but especially enjoyed cooking and baking with her grandchildren.

She is the mother of Ryan Shumway of Troy, Catherine Kilmer (Karl) of Cohoes, Corey LaBello (Chad) of Troy and the late Richard W. Shumway III. She is the sister of Dawn Quackenbush of Rensselaer, William Brisson, Eileen Thompson and Mary Abdella all of Cohoes. She is the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A Memorial Mass will be offered Saturday at 11:30 am in the Church of the Holy Trinity Church, 122 Vliet Blvd., Cohoes. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit with her family at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford on Saturday morning, from 9 – 11 am, prior to the memorial mass.
