Obituary for Joan W. Mullahey (Wells)

WATERFORD Joan W. Mullahey, 93, formerly of Lawrence St. passed away Monday July 4, 2022 at Eddy Memorial Geriatric Center. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Albert and Evelyn Costello Wells. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School and Empire State College

Joan worked for the former NY Telephone Co. after her graduation from high school. She later operated a nursery School in Green Island for 18 years. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church in Waterford and was a member of the Altar Society there. She was a member of the Waterford Home Bureau, the J.W. Ford Hose Co. Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of St. Mary’s School Mother’s Club.

She was the widow of James T. Mullahey who passed away in 2012. She is survived by her children J. Michael Mullahey (Sue) of Speigletown, Gayle Kavanagh (Lisa) of Red Hook, Kevin P. Mullahey (Rosann) of Clifton Park, Maureen Martin (Jim) of Glenville and Collene Reed (Bill) of North Syracuse. She is predeceased by her brother Albert T. Wells and granddaughter Mandy Mullahey. 10 Grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
