Obituary for Jeremiah C. "Jerry" Sweeter

SCHAGHTICOKE Jeremiah “Jerry” Sweeter, 45, of Muriel Lane passed away suddenly Tuesday April 5, 2022 after being stricken at his place of business. Death was attributed to natural causes. Born in Troy he is the son of John F. Sweeter Sr. and Mary Ellen Hennessey Sweeter of Halfmoon. He was a 1994 graduate of Catholic Central High School and had attended Gannon University in Erie, PA

Jerry owned and operated Perlman’s Garage in Albany. Earlier he had worked at Mohawk Paper Mills at both their Waterford and Cohoes locations. He was a former member and officer of the Academy of the Holy Names Booster Club in Albany.

He enjoyed skiing, shooting, working on cars and spending time at the lake house, but most of all he enjoyed time spent with his children.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his former spouse Stacey Rourke Sweeter and his children, Molly and Elizabeth all of Clifton Park. Also surviving are his siblings, John F. Sweeter Jr. (Mary Lou) of Waxhaw, NC, Mara Sweeter of Clifton Park and Shanna Dodge of Cohoes and his partner Antonietta Garofalo DiClemente and her children of Schaghticoke, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Monday at 10 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., Waterford and at 10:30 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. Interment will be in St Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-6 pm.
