Obituary for Jason R. Downey
COOPERSTOWN Jason R. Downey, 51, of Eslie Ave., passed away peacefully Thursday March 30, 2023 surrounded by his loving family at Bassett Medical Center. Born in Oneonta NY he is the son of Susan Casuras Ahearn of Waterford and the late Michael Downey. He was the stepson of the late John Ahearn.
Jason was blind since the age of 8 and suffered many other disabilities throughout his life. In spite of many adversities he maintained a positive attitude. He enjoyed music and listening to audio books and game shows.
In addition to his mother he is survived by his brother Stephen Downey of Niskayuna and step brother Scott Ahearn of Waterford as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of his family.
