Obituary for Janet E. Wells (Chicoine)
CLIFTON PARK Janet E. Wells, 77, of Schuyler Ridge Residential Health Care and a long time Troy resident died Monday January 14, 2019 at her residence after a long illness. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late James and Hazel Teal Chicoine. She was a graduate of Berlin Central Schools.
Janet was retired from the NYS Department of Health in Albany where she had worked for 10 years. Earlier she worked in retail sales in several former clothing stores in Troy. She was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Troy. Her greatest enjoyment was vacationing in Maine with her late husband Bill. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking, music and playing the guitar.
She was the widow of William V. Wells who died May 6, 2018. She is the sister of Hazel Ledger of Old Orchard Beach, Maine and the twin sister of the late Helen Viola Chicoine who died at birth. She is the sister in law of Catherine and George Capsimalis of Clifton Park and Heleen and David Knapp of Ballston Lake. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Funeral services will be Friday at 10:30 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St., (Rte.32), Waterford and at 11 am at St. Augustine’s Church in Lansingburgh. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.
Relatives and friends may visit with her family at the funeral home on Friday prior to the funeral from 9:30 – 10:30 am.
