Obituary for George J. LaCombe
WATERFORD George J. LaCombe, 84, formerly of Robin Lane was called home on Friday April 14, 2023 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. Born in Cohoes, he was the son of the late George L. and Lucille Baillargeon LaCombe. He was a lifelong Waterford resident and a graduate of Hudson Valley Community College.
George was employed for 32 years by GE in Schenectady and retired from their Research and Development Facility in 1998. He was a member of the Waterford Knights of Columbus Council 237 and the only non-Italian member of the Italian-American Club in Mechanicville. George made friends wherever life took him, from the breakfast table at Don & Paul’s to the golf course in Clearwater, Florida where he enjoyed his retirement to the fullest.
Survivors include his high school sweetheart and beloved wife of 67 years, Marilyn Dallas LaCombe and his loving children, Bonny Gabriel (Dom) of Waterford and George J. LaCombe Jr. (Brenda) of Lexington, SC. He is also survived by his brother Paul LaCombe (Brenda) of Greensboro, NC, 5 grandchildren (Nicole, Stacy, Erica, Alyssa and Brandon) and 2 great grandchildren (Hugo and Felix) as well as his friends at Coburg Village.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of his family. Interment will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. John Nolan for his 30 years of dedicated care of George’s heart, as well as to the wonderful ICU staff at Ellis Hospital.
