Obituary for George J. Bourgeois
WILLIAMSTOWN, NJ George J. Bourgeois formerly of Halfmoon, NY died December 18, 2020. Born in Waterford he was the son of the late George F. and Anna V. Gregoire Bourgeois.
With his father George operated a school bus service in Waterford and Clifton Park. He later started an antique business in Halfmoon which he operated for many years before moving to New Jersey in 2015. George was a veteran of both the US Army and US Airforce.
He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Penders Bourgeois and his children, George J. Bourgeois Jr. of Waterford, Joy Jakuboski (Paul) of Sicklerville, NJ and Jody Bourgeois of Averill Park. He is brother of Connie Van Norden (Franklin) of Clifton Park and proud grandfather of Natasha, Valerie, Justin, Amanda, Shelby and Scott and step grandfather of Scott and Amanda. 5 Great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday at 9 am from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 9:30 am at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Sunday from 3-5 pm.
As per pandemic regulations, masks will be required and social distancing and occupancy limitations observed.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 2 Pine West Plaza #202, Albany, NY 12205.
