Obituary for Frances A. Hill (Cerqua)
SAN ANGELO, TEXAS Frances A. Hill, 88, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 23, 2021. Born in Waterford, NY, Frances was the daughter of the late Pasquale and Maria Fusco Cerqua. She graduated from Waterford High School.
She worked for the New York Telephone Co. after her graduation and later while living in Washington, D.C., she worked for GEICO. .She married her high school sweetheart, Edwin Hill, 67 years ago. Together with their daughter Paula Ann they lived in and traveled to many places with the US Air Force. She lived in Okinawa, Japan for 5 years and Zweibrucken, Germany for 3 years. She also visited such places as Rome, Venice, Paris, London, Hawaii and Tokyo. She eventually settled in San Angelo with Edwin, Paula and her granddaughter, Poppy Marie where she has lived for the past 54 years. She was a longtime member of the Newtimers Club in San Angelo.
She is survived by her husband Edwin, her daughter Paula, her son in law Lee all of San Angelo and her brother Patrick Cerqua of California. Many nieces and nephews and dear friends also survive. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sisters Theresa Rosamilia and Ann Cerqua, her brother William Cerqua and her granddaughter Poppy Nobbs.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at noon at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday 10 am – noon, prior to the funeral service.
As per pandemic regulations masks are required, social distancing and occupancy limitations observed.
