Obituary for Esther M. Dehler (Coppola)

COHOES Esther M. Dehler, 88, of Eddy Village Green and formerly of Troy and Waterford died Thursday July 30, 2020 at her residence. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred Catone Coppola. She was a 1949 graduate of Catholic Central High School.

Esther was employed for 24 years at Barnes & Noble in Albany, retiring in 2002. Prior she was employed at the Price Chopper on Hoosick St. in Troy and in her earlier years at the former Menands Drive In Theatre. She was a communicant of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Troy and served as a Lector there and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed her weekly poker games and traveling with her poker club.

Esther was the widow of George Dehler Sr. who died in 2007. She is the loving mother of Barbara Dongelewic (Michael) of Poestenkill, Kathy Nappo (Paul) of Florida, George Dehler Jr. (Terry) and Scott Dehler (Tammi) of Waterford. She is the proud grandmother of Staci, Dana, Ashley, Amber, Christina, Mitchell, Jack, Vinny, Brittany, Patrick, Miranda and Christopher and great grandmother of Taylor, Savannah, Isabella, Giuliana, Madilynn and Carter.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at noon at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St., Waterford. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Troy.

Relatives and friends may visit at the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford, on Tuesday from 9:30 – 11:30 prior to the funeral Mass.

As per pandemic regulations, masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
