Obituary

BRUNSWICK Ellis “Al” Danish, 96, of Brick Church Rd. died peacefully Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 at his residence. Born in Brunswick, he was the son of the late Terenti and Efrasha Spiak Danish.

Al was a lifelong Brunswick resident and a graduate of Troy High School. He was employed as an Ironworker for Local 12 in Latham from 1957 until his retirement in 1987. Throughout his career he worked on many projects in the area most notably, the South Mall and the Egg in Albany. Prior to that he had been employed at the Danish Chicken Farm, Brown’s Garage, the Watervliet Arsenal, GE in Schenectady and the former Meneely Bell Foundry.

In his free time, Al was a snowmobile enthusiast and also drove a stockcar in the 1950’s. He loved simply cutting firewood for his wood stove and going on his Saturday garage sale excursions with his wife. Probably his greatest joy in retirement was traveling the world with his family having gone on over 36 cruises.

Al is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Theresa A. Stephens Danish and his son Robert T. Danish. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Andrew, Stephen, Michael, Peter, William and Samuel Danish, Ann Roach and Mary Fagan.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Eagle Mills Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham, NY 12110.

I wish you peace and comfort during this time of sorrow. (2 Corinthians 1:2-4) The
Bible gives real hope of being reunited again with your loved one. It promises that
your loved one will soon come back to life in the resurrection to a beautiful peaceful
paradise on the earth. (John 5:28, 29)

Sincerely,

Please accept my condolences for the passing of your dear loved one. When someone we love dies, the heartache and grief can be great. I hope that you can be comforted knowing that God cares for you and sees your pain. (1 Peter 5 : 7) "He is close to the brokenhearted and He saves those who are crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34 : 18) May you find comfort and relief during this grievous time, as you cherish the precious memories of Ellis.
