Obituary for Edward J. Landry

HALFMOON Edward J. Landry, born January 23rd 1992, of Plank Rd., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday December 28th 2022 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of Dennis M. Landry Sr. and Nancy A. Dame Landry of Halfmoon. He was a 2010 graduate of Shenendehowa High School and received his Associates’ Degree from Hudson Valley Community College.

Eddie was a Blackjack Dealer at Rivers Casino in Schenectady for the past year. Prior to that he was employed at Ducommun Aerostructures Inc. in Coxsackie.

Eddie was an avid sports enthusiast and loved the Dallas Cowboys. He was like greased lightning on the soccer field when he played in rec leagues. He was also a cheerleader at Shenendehowa High School. Eddie greatly enjoyed fishing, hiking, and going golfing and bowling with his family and friends.

The Landry family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eddie’s close friend, Pastor Vince Finnegan. They also would like to express their sincere appreciation for care provided by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Halfmoon Fire Department, Clifton Park-Halfmoon EMS, and the Emergency Room, Intensive Care Unit, and Donate Life professionals at Samaritan Hospital.

Survivors in addition to his parents include his son, Paxton Landry, his siblings, Jolene A. Feeney (Zack) of Cohoes, Dennis M. Landry Jr. (Jessica Sweet) of Pleasantdale, and Julie E. Landry (Charlie Walton) of Coxsackie. He is the cherished grandson of Edward J. and Shirley A. Dame of Halfmoon and the late Gertrude E. Landry. Also surviving are his nephews, Emerson and Oliver Feeney, and his girlfriend, J. Theresa Rubi of Albany.

Visiting hours will begin at 3pm on Monday, January 2nd, with a Memorial Service for Eddie beginning at 6pm, all held at Living Hope Community Church, ¬458 Old Niskayuna Rd., Latham, NY 12110. For directions contact the church at: 518-785-8888.
