Obituary for Dorothy M. Angus (Clairmont)
HALFMOON Dorothy Clairmont Angus, 93, passed away Sunday February 27, 2022 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs. Born in Cohoes in 1928 she was the daughter of the late Leo and Eva Darmetko Clairmont. She was a graduate of Cohoes High School.
Dorothy had been employed for many years at the Cluett Peabody & Co. in Troy and later at DiSiena Furniture in Mechanicville.
In her youth Dorothy enjoyed riding her horse on Van Schaick Island where she grew up. She later moved to Waterford where she raised her family. Dorothy loved her family most of all and her pets as well. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crocheting, bowling, and supporting her favorite basketball team the Utah Jazz.
She is survived by her three children Linda Caulkins O’Brien (late Dennis) of Greenwich, John Caulkins (Julie) of Waterford and Sharon Miner of Halfmoon; five grandchildren Kate Smith (Robert), John Caulkins (Kristin), Christopher O’Brien (Christina), Jeff Caulkins (Kathryn) and Jenna Couch (Scott) and eight great-grandchildren Helen and Bridget Smith, Sam Caulkins, Logan and Finn O’Brien, Mia Buell, Olivia and Harper Couch. She was predeceased by her sister Jean White and is also survived by Jean’s family.
A memorial service will be held on Monday March 7, 2022 at 1 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rt. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at Waterford Rural Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday prior to the service from 11 am – 1 pm.
