Obituary for Diane M. Esposito (Olszowy)
SARATOGA SPRINGS Diane M. Esposito, 76, formerly of Waterford passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday May 3, 2023. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late William Olszowy Sr. and Doris LeMay Sickler.
Diane was a 1965 graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School where she had won many awards for stenography and secretarial skills. Upon graduation she was employed by the State of New York and was in the secretarial pool for then Governor Nelson Rockefeller. She left the workforce when her children arrived. She returned to the workforce when her children were raised and later retired from the Niagara Mohawk Power Co. after 20 years of service.
She was a dedicated family woman and enjoyed gardening, cooking, crocheting, Paint-by-Numbers, and vacations at the beach.
Diane was the widow of Thomas Esposito Sr. who died in 2008. She was the loving mother of Thomas Esposito Jr. (Karen) of Cambridge, John Esposito of Halfmoon and Tammy Esposito (Janette) of Ballston Spa. She was the sister of the late William, Beverly and Eleanor Olszowy and proud grandmother of Ashley Halliday (Evan) of Boylston, MA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Wednesday May 10, 2023 at 1 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte. 32), Waterford. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 11 am – 1 pm.
