COLONIE Colleen “Beanie” Matthews Svingala, 60, of Consaul Rd. died Tuesday March 2, 2021 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Albany she is survived by her father Robert Matthews and his wife Carol of East Greenbush and is predeceased by her mother Joanne Whalen Matthews.

Colleen had been employed for over 25 years at the Freihofer Baking Co. in Albany and retired in 2019. She enjoyed camping, fishing and spending time at the swimming pool.

Survivors include her children, James Roberts of Cohoes, Mandy Roberts, Kara and George Svingala all of Mechanicville and her longtime companion Robert Wadsworth. She is the sister of Cheryl Ryan of Colonie, Mary Beth Matthews of Cohoes, the late David, Bobby, Russell and Noelle Matthews. 5 Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A memorial service will be Saturday at 10:30 am at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday from 8:30 – 10:30 am prior to the service.

As per pandemic regulations, masks are required, social distancing and occupancy limitations observed.
