Obituary

CLIFTON PARK Charles D. Prud’homme, aka Chuck/Charlie/Pip lost his courageous battle with brain cancer. He passed away surrounded by his family and friends on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He forever will be remembered by his family for his “infinite love”. He was a proud graduate of Siena College, class of 1971.

Chuck was retired, and was in the grocery business for his entire career. He worked for Grand Union for 25 years and his most recent job before retiring was with Advantage Sales and Marketing.

He proudly served in United States Army Infantry on active duty for 3 months and in the Army Reserves for 8 years. Chuck received an honorable discharge having achieved the rank of Captain. He was also a former member and past Captain of the Halfmoon Waterford Fire Department, and served the Department for 9 years. Chuck especially enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing and going to the ocean. He was an avid NY Yankees fan, and he also was fondly known as a lifetime planner.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife Debra Bryant Prud’homme. Chuck and Debbie were to celebrate their 50th anniversary this summer. Chuck is also survived by his devoted daughters Allison (Christopher) Holland of Stillwater, NY and Sara (David) Kunselman of Strongsville, Ohio. He is also survived by his adored grandchildren, Morgan Holland and Andrew Kunselman and by his sister Diane Degroff of Loudonville, NY and nephew Steven Degroff of Loudonville, NY. He is predeceased by his loving parents, Francis and Marguerite Prud’homme.

The immediate family would like to thank all of their family and friends who visited, prayed, sent food and rallied around them during this time. Special thanks to Community Hospice and all of the wonderful care givers that supported the family through this journey.

Services will be private and there will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Community Hospice 310 S. Manning Blvd. Albany, NY 12208.
