Obituary for C. Judith Caponi (Gonzalez)
WATERFORD C. Judith Caponi, 87, of Sage Rd. passed away Wednesday May 5, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late Hernando and Rita Chicoine Gonzalez. Judy received most of her early education in Troy but had moved to Warrensburg in her senior year and graduated from Warrensburg High School. She had attended Albany Business College and HVCC and was a member of Alpha IOTA Honor Society.
Judy was employed for 20 years at the NYS Department of Motor Vehicles in Albany and retired in 1999. While her children were in school she was a member of St. Mary’s Mother’s Club and was an assistant Girl Scout Leader. She was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren as well as traveling and gardening.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years Armand Caponi, her children Catherine Golden of Waterford, Gene Caponi (Rebecca) of Needham, MA and Carolyn Caponi of Waterford. She is the proud grandmother of Michael and Kathryn Golden, Emma and John Caponi and great-grandmother of Kaylee and Claira Golden.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday at 1 pm at St Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St., Waterford.
There will be no public calling hours
