Obituary for Barbara A. Giroux (McClement)

WATERFORD Barbara A. Giroux, 78, of 6th St. passed away peacefully Monday January 4, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family and has returned to the loving arms of her beloved husband and soulmate, Bill. Born in Cohoes she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hannah LaBarge McClement. She had graduated from St. Michael’s School as Salutatorian, attended Keveny Memorial Academy and graduated from Cohoes High School in 1960.

Barbara was employed at Fay’s Drug Store in Lansingburgh and later at Marra’s Pharmacy in Waterford. She retired in 1993. She enjoyed Bingo, Racino and going to the Saratoga Harness Track with her late husband Bill.

Barbara is the widow of William J. Giroux who died in February of last year. She is the loving mother of Stacy Hall (Robert) of Waterford, the late Catherine M. Giroux and William J. Giroux II. She is the sister of Deborah McClement of Brunswick, Nancy Loudis (late Joe) of Cohoes, and the late Frank L. “Sonny” McClement. She is sister in law of Lillian Fernet of Cohoes and Beatrice Petersen of Waterford and is the proud grandmother of Emily Giroux and great grandmother of Amalia, Briella and Corinna Fitch. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be Friday at noon from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 12:30 pm at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Interment will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Waterford.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home Friday from 10 am – noon, prior to the funeral.

Due to pandemic regulations, masks are required, social distancing practiced and occupancy limitations observed.
