Obituary for Barbara J. "Barb" Falcone
WATERFORD Barbara (Barb) J. Falcone, 83, passed away peacefully at Eddy Village Green in Cohoes on April 18, 2022.
Barbara was the daughter of the late Ruth Breen and Samuel Amato. Barbara graduated from Lansingburgh High School in 1957. Barb resided in Waterford most of her life before moving to Tavares, Florida with her husband Frank in 2000. After her husband’s passing Barb moved back to Waterford in 2015. She was employed with the NYS Workers' Compensation Board, retiring in 2000. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Waterford. Barb loved music, car rides, camping, playing bingo, spending time with her family and loved maple walnut ice cream. In her earlier years she enjoyed bowling.
Barbara is survived by her children, Noreen (Robert) Mielenz of Waterford, Michael (Gayle) Thyrring of Stafford, VA and Craig Falcone of Waterford; one sister Carol Sheffer of Waterford; grandchildren, Nicole Roy, Anthony Roy, Dennis Mielenz, Mark (Anna) Thyrring and Katelyn (Eric) Kirste, and seven great grandchildren. Barb was predeceased by her husband Francis J. Falcone who passed away in 2012 and her first husband, Dennis A. Thyrring as well as her granddaughter, McKenzie Falcone.
Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17th, at 1pm in the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad Street, Waterford. Relatives and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home from 11:00am to 1:00 pm prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
