Obituary for Arthur F. Crotty

COHOES Arthur F. Crotty, 91, formerly of 4th St. in Waterford passed away Friday March 3, 2023 at Eddy Village Green. Born in Dobbs Ferry he was the son of the late David and Mary Hauptman Crotty. He moved to this area in 1954.

Arthur had been employed for 43 years by the former NY Telephone Co. at their Menands location and retired in 1991 and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean War. He was a member of the Christian Science Church in Delmar as well as the Old Chatham Fox Hunt and the Adirondack Mountain Club and Crooked Cane Club both hiking clubs. He served as Ring Master at many horse shows. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, hiking and many other outdoor activities.

Arthur was the husband of the late Beatrice M. Kenney Crotty who died in 1995. He is the fiancé of Patricia Palmateer of Waterford and father of Edwin Shudt (Carolyn) of Waterford, Daniel A Crotty (Dyanne) of Indian Lake and Mary Crotty of Slingerlands. He is brother of Virginia Crotty and Mary Ann Willetts of Troy and is the proud grandfather of Dillon Horick, Lisa St. John, Kimberly, Edwin and Thomas Shudt.

A committal service with Military Honors will be conducted on Friday March 17, 2023 at 1 pm at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
