Obituary for Anthony J. "Tony" Malo
WATERFORD Anthony “Tony” J. Malo, 47, of Middletown Rd. passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side on Saturday December 17, 2022.
He was a 1993 graduate of Waterford-Halfmoon High School and was a member of the WHHS Soccer Team that won the State Championship in November of 1992. He received his Associates degree from Hudson Valley Community College.
Tony was employed for the past 25 years by Verizon and was a member of Local 118 CWA. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
Tony was deeply devoted to his family and was known for his kind, caring and generous nature. He enjoyed time spent with his family at Sacandaga Lake. He was a sports and golf enthusiast and belonged to several leagues in the area. He also enjoyed hunting, camping and taking care of his yard.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Ellen Severence Malo, his son, Jonathan R. Malo, his parents Robert and Linda Lane Malo of Halfmoon NY, his stepson, Douglas J. Murray (& Katherine) of Waterford. He was preceded in death by his brother Robert T. Malo. He was the proud grandfather of William Murray. Loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday evening at 7 pm at Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford.
Relatives and friends may visit with his family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4-7 pm prior to the funeral service.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of his family.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Ave., Menands, NY 12204.
