Obituary for Agnes M. Benassi (Licata)
WATERFORD Agnes M. Benassi, 88, formerly of Waterford and Cohoes passed away Wednesday May 18, 2022 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in New York City she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elena Zappola Licata. She was educated in Bronx schools and moved to this area in 1994.
Agnes had been employed as a Bus Aide for the Brentwood New York School District and retired in 1993.
For many years Agnes took care of her husband Vincent until his death in 2014. She enjoyed collecting dolls and had a large collection. She was always ready to go out to eat, and enjoyed dining at area restaurants.
She was the devoted wife of the late Vincent L. Benassi Sr. and loving mother of Neal Benassi (Erma), Vincent J. Benassi Jr. and Joseph V. Benassi all of Waterford. She was the sister of Carmine Licata of Queens, the late Salvatore Licata, Antoinette Raciti and Alfia Trovoto. She is the proud grandmother of Jeremy V. Benassi of Glenmont and great grandmother of Lilyana Benassi. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a committal service on Wednesday May 25, 2022 at 2 pm at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY.
Those who wish may make memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
