TROY William R. “Hos” Hosgood, 68, of 15th St. died Tuesday September 25, 2018 at St. Peter’s Rehabilitation Center surrounded by his loving family. Born in Shamokin, PA he was the son of the late Charles A. and Vera A. Hummell Hosgood. He was a 1970 graduate of Troy High School.

Hos was a self-employed contractor and owned and operated W. H. Tile Co. in Troy. He was a member of Local 452 of the Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He was a veteran of the US Army.

He was a member of the American Legion in Wynantskill, the Emerald Club in Troy, the Cohoes-Waterford Lodge of Elks, Latham K of C, the Troy Judo Club, and the former Crab Club. His hobbies were many including hunting and fishing, golfing, darts, bowling and boating.

He is the husband of Blanche Greklek Hosgood and father of Blanche C. Vozzy (John) of Mechanicville, Sue A. Lester (Norman) of Orlando, FL, Tammy A. Hosgood of Clifton Park, Richard A. Hosgood (Amanda) of New Milford, NJ, Christal M. Hosgood-Capalbo (Anthony) of Saratoga Springs, Christina M. Hosgood of Troy, Tiffany A. Hosgood of Clifton Park and the late William R. Hosgood Jr. He is the brother of Charles A. Hosgood (Myrna) of Saratoga Springs, twin brother, Robert J. Hosgood (Catherine) of Clifton Park, Kristina Hosgood of Watervliet and the late Raymond Hosgood and Cheryl Rosamilia. He is the proud grandfather of Taylar, Kasey, Anthony, Nicolino, Marc, Bianca, Giuliana, Spencer, Audrey, Cole and Anthony Jr. Several nieces, nephews and amazing friends also survive.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Philip J. Brendese Funeral Home, 133 Broad St. (Rte.32), Waterford and at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church in Troy. Interment will be in St. Peter’s Cemetery, Troy.

Relatives and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday from 4-8 pm.
